What We Do
Raise Awareness
Provide Relief
At Freedom Army, our first objective is to educate people about the horrific Cobalt human rights catastrophe happening in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and then INVITE them to join our fight and do something to help. There are lots of ways you can make a difference in the lives of these suffering Congolese kids. To find out more about what we do and how you can help, Click "LEARN MORE" below.
One of the most beneficial ways to help the kids in the Congo is to financially support Freedom Army's collective efforts to PROVIDE RELIEF - humanitarian aid and support to the children of the Congo and their families as well. About Freedom Army
Freedom Army is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fighting for the exploited, oppressed and suffering children in the Congo who can't fight for themselves.
We are a growing "army" of freedom-fighters (staff, donors, volunteers and supporters) whose eyes have been opened to the ugly truth about how and on whose tiny backs our hi-tech and convenient way of life is being made possible - and together we're doing something about it!.
What makes Freedom Army "Freedom Fighters" heroes? What makes them extra-ordinary? It's simple! When they see the horror that is happening in the Congo, they can't unsee it! Instead of turning a blind-eye to the heartbreaking Congo Cobalt Catastrophe, these extraordinary people have chosen to take action - to do something to help. Freedom Army's weapons of choice are love and small sacrifices. And our battle plan is to enlist Freedom Fighters - kind and compassionate people who are moved and inspired to Join our Fight and #do something (small or BIG) - to collectively bring rescue, relief and hope to the innocent, exploited and helpless, kids who are suffering unimaginable hardships everyday in the Congo.
We invite you to also learn about The Ugly Truth, embrace The Power of WE and then choose to join Freedom Army and #Do Something to help these kids.
Please join us, we promise you'll be glad you did!

The UGLY TRUTH
Did you know:
1. Over 70% of Cobalt - the essential component to virtually all the rechargeable batteries that power our smartphones, tablets, laptops and electric vehicles today - is found and mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
2. Much of that mined cobalt is dug out of the ground by children as young as 8 years old - literally on their bare hands and knees - in dangerous and toxic conditions!
3. Maybe the hardest truth for us to hear and accept is that anyone (ALL of us) who uses a smart phone or any other rechargeable device - like it or not - IS PART OF THE PROBLEM!
The bad news is there is more ugliness to this story, click "The Ugly Truth" below to see for yourself.
The good news is you can also be part of Freedom Army's Relief effort.

The Power of WE
When many give a little!
Here's our bold vision: 1000 people in each of the USA's 50 states making a monthly sacrifice to do without (or less of) some creature comfort they enjoy.
And then generously give the money they did not spend (say $10/month) to Freedom Army's Congo relief efforts.
That would mean Freedom Army Freedom Fighters (our generous donors and supporters) would collectively pass along $6M in relief, help and hope to the forgotten kids suffering in the Congo.
Can you do without a retail cup of coffee a few times a month or maybe skip dessert when you go out to your monthly dinner? You get the idea, right?
Give a little - HELP alot!

Here's out INVITATION:
Ok, now you know a little bit more about the ugliness and hopelessness playing out in the Congo .
And you "get" the Power of We movement that we're inviting you to join.
If you have gotten this far, and you are saying to yourself or your spouse, or your kids, or your friends, "yeah, I can do something - I WANT to do something!"...then the only thing left is to figure out what or where in your daily, weekly or monthly living experience are you are willing to make a small sacrifice. To do without or less of something and pass your generosity and kindness along to the kids suffering in the Congo.
We promise you will quickly understand what we mean when we say:
"It feels good to do good"
